Day 3 - Lee, FL to Midway, FL

Hey everyone! Today started like yesterday, the alarm went off at 5:30am. We packed our bedding away and got dressed for the day. Breakfast was made and waiting for us when we were ready to eat. I didn't have much of an appetite so I had a piece of toast and some water. At 6:45am we rode out to the main light in Lee, FL and it may be the only light in Lee. As soon as we made a left at the light, it started to rain so we flagged the SAG (support and gear) vehicle down and got our rain jackets and shoe covers on. At that point the rain stopped….but we decided with the temperature drop we figured we would leave it all on. It did rain on and off for a few hours so that decision paid off. This morning was the first time I really left my legs being tired, so we stopped a few extra times and stretched them out. We rode on to the lunch stop at 50 miles. We stopped and had sandwiches and drank a coke. Yes, we stop and drink cokes during the middle of a 100 mile on occasion. If that sounds strange rent (if you can find it) American Flyers and get back to me.

We rode out of lunch with only 45 miles to our resting stop. My legs were finally coming around and feel better. The wind also kicked it a couple notches and made the afternoon ride more challenging. We rode into Tallahassee and navigated around the back roads and I swear us road in a circle at one point! And every turn we made was onto a road with a hill. We finally made it to the last road that lead home and it was…you guessed it up a hill. We buckled down and road up it arriving at our resting place about 4pm.

We have a hotel room tonight, so some of us are in the room and the others are in the RV. Looking forward to sleeping in bed tonight. We are all updating our blogs and posting pictures to do our best to keep everyone update. It is nice to be off the bike with the sun still up with some time to relax and share stories with each other. We truly appreciate everyone support and prayer. We have a lot of miles ahead of us and we look forward to the challenge that is front of us!
